Alanya TEKMER Turns 1: The Technologies of the Future Are Taking Shape in Alanya!

Alanya TEKMER (Alanya Technology Development Centre), Alanya’s gateway to technology and innovation, celebrated its first anniversary with the participation of entrepreneurs, academics and representatives from the business world. The centre, which began hosting 30 technology startups in as short a period as one year, aims to make Alanya the region’s new-generation technology hub.

A Structure Strengthened by Academic and Strategic Support

Prof. Dr. Atıf Bayramoğlu and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç, the Deputy Rectors of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), who participated in the Alanya TEKMER 1st Anniversary Celebration Programme, launched under the leadership of ALKÜ and with the support of KOSGEB, drew attention to the critical importance of TEKMER for university-industry cooperation in the region. Acting as a bridge in transforming academic knowledge into commercial value, TEKMER combines Alanya’s traditional economic strength with technology.

Alanya’s New Identity: Technology and Innovation

Alanya TEKMER is not merely an office space, but also offers a culture of living and production. The centre, which is progressing towards becoming one of technology's strongest supporters in the TR61 Region (Antalya, Isparta, Burdur), is also triggering "reverse brain drain" in the region through the incubation support, business development opportunities and consultancy on accessing state support that it provides to startups.

In the evaluations conducted during the event, the contribution of the entrepreneurship ecosystem to Alanya was emphasised in the following words:

ALANYA TEKMER’S 1-YEAR DEVELOPMENT

Since its establishment with the aim of revealing the region's technology and entrepreneurship potential and supporting the transformation of innovative ideas into sustainable startups, Alanya TEKMER has laid the foundations of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Alanya with its strong structure, particularly focused on software, as well as machinery, energy and biotechnology.

From Software to the Defence Industry: 30 Startup Companies

Since it began operating, Alanya TEKMER, which focuses particularly on software, machinery, energy and biotechnology, has increased the number of companies under its roof to 30. Companies such as Inspire IT, Armada Bilişim, İklim Global, Bidolumedya, ZKM Mühendislik Teknolojileri, Meticax, Tulpar Yazılım, Ay-Yıldız Savunma and AR-GE are developing projects aimed at the global market with the modern infrastructure and mentorship support provided by the centre.

Over the past year, 30 entrepreneurs and companies joined Alanya TEKMER to carry out R&D and innovation activities. These companies include Inspire IT, Armada Bilişim, İklim Global, Bidolumedya, ZKM Mühendislik Teknolojileri, Meticax, Tulpar Yazılım, Ay-Yıldız Savunma and AR-GE.

Entering the Second Year: Alanya’s Bridge to the World of Technology

Following the successful completion of its first year, Alanya TEKMER is moving into its second year with the “local to global” principle. The centre, which is expanding its goals in the new period;

• International Collaborations: Expanding networks that bring entrepreneurs together not only with the Turkish market but also with global investor groups,
• Sectoral Deepening: Launching vertical acceleration programmes in the fields of "Tourism Technologies" and "Smart Agriculture", which are suitable for Alanya’s potential, alongside the defence industry and software,
• Making Alanya a Digital Nomad Hub by turning the city into a centre of attraction for technology professionals from all corners of the world and prioritising the addition of qualified value to the city’s economy.

In its second year, Alanya TEKMER will continue to be not merely an incubator, but a “success factory” where ideas are turned into products and products are turned into economic value.
